Many of the cheaper Arduino boards available use a different interface chip to the original device, and some computers will not recognise these boards automatically and allow updating.


These usually use the CH340 chip and so the correct drivers need to be installed, which are available at http://www.wch.cn/download/ch341ser_zip.html

  • Mac OS - choose the CH341SER_MAC.ZIP package
  • Windows - choose the CD341SER.EXE package
